An Easy Way to Teach 'Hard' Language

"How can I get students comfortable with and using difficult language?" is a perennial question I hear from teachers, and a question I've often asked myself. A big part of the answer is helping students read more, but suitable texts can be hard to come by—and even with these, it may be a long time before students meet specific constructions and phrases enough to acquire them.

Teachers can create their own texts to feature such language, but this is an incredible amount of work to put into something we're not even sure students will want to read.
